Differences matter. That’s what Mother Nature is forever telling me. And she should know because she grew each and every multi-faceted, multi-coloured being that walks both sides of The Great Onion Skin. Understanding another’s life is like
donning a different shoe while still having a foot laced up in a comfy sneaker. You get to see life from your way and from the way of another.
It means we learn from each other. Such as knowing what it’s like to have 5 pairs of eyes, like me—an Observer. Or how it feels to have huge ears and razor sharp hearing like a Fat Pogerty.
It’s funny how people so seemingly different can fit so snug, like a pair of comfy lace ups. Take De’Ath—my legal guardian since my parents were eaten by a ginormous mole on its debut outing on The Mole Express*. His compassion is as fleeting as the passing souls he ushers through the gnarly gates of The Underworld. Whereas his sister, Essie O’Nance (or Life as she is better know to MoSapiens**) sparkles with life, joyfully dancing with those who are ready to be gleamed into The World Beyond The Great Onion Skin.
One gives and one takes. And yet they work in total harmony.
As Mother Nature likes to drill into me (with her beady blue eyes) as we interact with others we build trust, respect, and an understanding of how all cultures differ and how we all contribute to different language skills, new ways of thinking, new knowledge, and different experiences.
BOOM! As other impact your life, you impact theirs.
Differences like that make life more interesting, don’t you think?
